The good stuff

The PELL Chain System is where this game really shines. Being able to shift from the EX Fighter’s fast aerial form to the heavy humanoid mode during a single mission feels like having two different weapons in one. I remember one level where I was dodging Termination Bots on the coast, then dropped into ground mode to take out a base hidden behind cliffs-way more satisfying than just blasting through. The Free Map system lets you pick your own path, which means no two runs feel the same. You can defend a forward post, ambush a convoy, or just fly straight to the boss. That kind of freedom is rare in this genre, especially on Switch.

And the story? It’s not deep, but it’s got personality. U-Watari’s script gives the whole thing a cool sci-fi manga vibe, especially in the comic panels that pop up between missions. You can toggle between English and Japanese audio-something I appreciated since I wanted to hear the original voice acting while still following along. The sound design is crisp too; every laser blast and transformation has weight.

The not-so-good

It’s not perfect. The game’s pacing can drag a little in the middle act, and some missions feel like they’re testing patience instead of skill. Also, there’s no online multiplayer, which is a bummer if you’re looking for co-op chaos. And yeah, the developer’s unknown - that always makes me pause. But honestly, the gameplay holds up enough that I don’t mind the mystery.

Also, only 1 vote on the rating? That’s weird. Either people aren’t talking about it, or they’re holding back. Maybe it’s too niche. If you’re not into turn-based strategy or methodical mecha fights, this probably won’t click.
