The good stuff

What really surprised me was how fast we got used to it. We had a new intern join last month, and she picked it up in under an hour just by looking at the board. That’s rare. I also liked how easy it was to assign tasks with due dates and tags-no more endless email chains. And when we needed to track a client campaign, the timeline view showed us bottlenecks instantly. It’s not flashy, but it gets the job done without making you feel like you’re fighting the tool.

The not-so-good

Here’s the thing-Monday.com for Web Apps isn’t free, and the pricing feels steep for what you get. You can’t even export your data easily without upgrading. I tried switching back to Trello once, and man, it felt like coming home. The learning curve isn’t bad, but the lack of clear documentation means you’re often guessing. Also, the mobile web version is clunky-trying to edit a task on my phone felt like wrestling a greased pig. If you're working solo or on a tight budget, this probably isn't worth it.

Bottom line

If you’re part of a small team already using Monday.com’s full suite, then yeah, the web app version is fine. But if you’re just looking for a lightweight task tracker, go elsewhere-Trello or ClickUp are way cheaper and easier to use. This one’s only worth it if you’re deep in the Monday ecosystem and need that extra polish. Otherwise, skip it. It’s not bad, just not special enough to justify the cost.
