The good stuff

It’s weird how satisfying it is to line up three green balls just right and watch them explode in a chain reaction. The visuals are bright and clean, and the sound effects - especially when the ball cannon fires - are surprisingly crisp. I also liked how the levels gradually ramp up in difficulty without feeling unfair. There’s a nice mix of pattern recognition and quick reflexes needed, and the occasional obstacle like ice blocks or moving targets keeps things fresh. It reminded me a lot of the mobile version of Zuma, but with better controls on a keyboard. If you’re into casual puzzle games and don’t mind a little mental stretch, this one delivers without demanding your full attention.

The not-so-good

But here’s the catch - it’s just… a browser game. No save progress, no updates, nothing beyond what’s loaded in the page. Once you close the tab, you lose all momentum. And while it’s free, there’s no real incentive to keep coming back. After about five hours total, I started wondering why I was even playing it again. The game feels like it’s stuck in 2010 - no online leaderboards, no daily challenges, nothing to build habit around. If you’re someone who likes to track progress or compete with friends, this isn’t going to cut it. Also, the developer being “unknown” doesn’t inspire confidence. It’s probably safe, but still… you’re trusting a random site with a free game. Not a dealbreaker, but a nudge toward skipping it if you want something more solid.

If you’re bored for ten minutes and want a quick fix, Zuma’s Revenge! for Web Apps for Mac is fine. It’s free, it works, and it’s pretty to look at. But if you’re serious about puzzle games or want something that sticks around, go for the official versions on Steam or iOS instead. This one’s a novelty, not a long-term play. Skip it unless you’re killing time and have zero expectations.
